Our neighbors have evolved a healthier outlet for the natural competitive urges: Two hundred years ago the profit motive was wholly dominant in industry, but today it is being rapidly displaced by other and higher driving forces. Competition P.814 - §0 is keen on this continent, but much of it has been transferred from industry to play, skill, scientific achievement, and intellectual attainment. It is most active in social service and governmental loyalty. Among this people public service is rapidly becoming the chief goal of ambition. The richest man on the continent works six hours a day in the office of his machine shop and then hastens over to the local branch of the school of statesmanship, where he seeks to qualify for public service. Like you say Bonita, It is difficult to perceive because we are in the middle of it all. Spiritual transformation will lead a person to give another "the shirt off their back." I don't believe it is correct to call that communism, it is love. And is it not enlightened and proper for an individual to make that decision to give away what they don't, couldn't possibly use? Or is it put to better use by putting it into trust for future generations of ones own bloodlines. Bill Gates trying to address the need for better waste disposal, the design of a better toilet, for the world seems to me of much greater good for a greater number, than protecting an ongoing class of trust fund babies who were given what their ancestors worked hard to get. Don't take umbrage with me. I am talking about individual rights, decisions and spiritual transformation that leads one to understand Jesus' injunction "It is more blessed to give than receive." "These people are also beginning to foster a new form of social disgust--disgust for both idleness and unearned wealth. Slowly but certainly they are conquering their machines. Once they, too, struggled for political liberty and subsequently for economic freedom. Now are they entering upon the enjoyment of both while in addition they are beginning to appreciate their well-earned leisure, which can be devoted to increased self-realization."(72-5)

At Lake Urmia, Jesus said,"P.1489 - §3 Peace will not come to Urantia until every so-called sovereign nation surrenders its power to make war into the hands of a representative government of all mankind." Countries will "look out for their own" and deny social responsibility for what befalls those in other polities and places. In the case of Climate change, food shortages and more immediate and threatening, water shortages, will bring continuous war to this planet. When China can no longer feed its people, they will "take over" Thailand's "rice bowl" just as they have seized control of all the water in Asia and are redirecting it northward to farm their arid North.Our current social and governmental structures have not the flexibility necessary to adapt to the changes and face the stresses of the 21st Century.P.1013 - §9 "Modern man is confronted with the task of making more readjustments of human values in one generation than have been made in two thousand years. And this all influences the social attitude toward religion, for religion is a way of living as well as a technique of thinking." Social responsibility of the highest and most inspiring order is appearing in Plutocrats such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett giving all their wealth to charity causes. The embarassment of dying "filthy rich" does not appeal to these enlightened masters of Capitalism and it is my hope that their example will inspire (or embarass) others to emulate their behavior. Having more than you could possibly need should not inspire self-respect. "But every one who hears this charge and sincerely executes his commission to represent me before men even as I have represented my Father to you, shall find an abundant entrance into my service and into the kingdom of the heavenly Father."

He came from Paradise into the time-space universe to replicate in time what He knows in Eternity. Although not pre-existential or post eternal, He will always be my first Father. The part of the Master we call soul probably belongs to the Immanence of the Projected Incomplete. Who knows what will happen with this soul substance in the ages to come. Perhaps this essence of existential divinity will someday be personalized and play a role in the Supreme-Ultimate Transcendental levels of the "future." I know it is too good to "put on a shelf." P.56 - §2 There is also an organic unity in the universes of time and space which seems to underlie the whole fabric of cosmic events. This living presence of the evolving Supreme Being, this Immanence of the Projected Incomplete, is inexplicably manifested ever and anon by what appears to be an amazingly fortuitous co-ordination of apparently unrelated universe happenings. This must be the function of Providence--the realm of the Supreme Being and the Conjoint Actor. P.1291 - §10 It may be that on the upper limits of the finite, where time conjoins transcended time, there is some sort of blurring and blending of sequence. It may be that the Supreme is able to forecast his universe presence onto these supertime levels and then to a limited degree anticipate future evolution by reflecting this future forecast back to the created levels as the Immanence of the Projected Incomplete. Such phenomena may be observed wherever finite makes contact with superfinite, as in the experiences of human beings who are indwelt by Thought Adjusters that are veritable predictions of man's future universe attainments throughout all eternity." Transcendentals are subinfinite and subabsolute but superfinite and supercreatural. Transcendentals eventuate as an integrating level correlating the supervalues of absolutes with the maximum values of finites. From the creature standpoint, that which is transcendental would appear to have eventuated as a consequence of the finite; from the eternity viewpoint, in anticipation of the finite; and there are those who have considered it as a "pre-echo" of the finite. P.1159 - §7 That which is transcendental is not necessarily nondevelopmental, but it is superevolutional in the finite sense; neither is it nonexperiential, but it is superexperience as such is meaningful to creatures.

Yes, Bonita. Paul was a misogynist, among many other quirks and faults, but he was a shrewd deal-maker. He continued the substitution of fact for truth that began at Pentecost.-- "Peter unwittingly led off in this mistake, and others followed after him on down to Paul, who created a new religion out of the new version of the good news." Paul created Christianity and now we have to fill in the interstices of his "cut and paste" approach with the real living presence of the Master. No more "second hand God." It will be interesting to see the "hollywood" version of His life (then the "Baliwood") and finally will come "THE RELIGION OF JESUS" The Movie!!! By then there might well be 10's of thousands of study groups worldwide to foster that interest into something more permanent than mere sensation.

(1767.5) 159:4.3 “These writings are the work of men, some of them holy men, others not so holy."(Jesus) Deity is characterized by the quality of unity--actual or potential--on all supermaterial levels of reality; and this unifying quality is best comprehended by creatures as divinity.(p.2) In any universe contest between actual levels of reality, the personality of the higher level will ultimately triumph over the personality of the lower level. This inevitable outcome of universe controversy is inherent in the fact that divinity of quality equals the degree of reality or actuality of any will creature.(P.37-3) The foregoing are qualitative measurments available by secoraphic reflectivity (not on this planet till the rebellion is over). There is one quantitative measurement I found:P.140 - §1 "As the mind of any personality in the universe becomes more spiritual--Godlike--it becomes less responsive to material gravity. Reality, measured by physical-gravity response, is the antithesis of reality as determined by quality of spirit content. Physical-gravity action is a quantitative determiner of nonspirit energy; spiritual-gravity action is the qualitative measure of the living energy of divinity." (140 top) Bonita, we can not make these judgments but they can be made. Some persons have more light. They have the same endowment but they have "focused their inner eye" on the Father and evolved further and faster. How could a Mighty Messenger tell us about the "race for perfection" if there was not differential attainment on the path to Paradise. Yes God does not play favorites. Our God is just and merciful. The "Fragments of God" are identical in potential. We are variable in our response to divine guidance. Love You, Bill

"Many of you have this day come to the parting of the ways; you have come to a beginning of the making of the inevitable choice between the will of the Father and the self-chosen ways of darkness. And as you now choose, so shall you eventually be. You must either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else will the tree become corrupt and its fruit corrupt. I declare that in my Father's eternal kingdom the tree is known by its fruits. But some of you who are as vipers, how can you, having already chosen evil, bring forth good fruits? After all, out of the abundance of the evil in your hearts your mouths speak." (1714) (153-5) It is a choice to abide with the Father.

speculation IS entertaining and does stretch the mind which is good for the soul. A Mighty Messenger (a trinitized being who has been embraced and transformed by the Universal Father)tells us: "To me it seems more fitting, for purposes of explanation to the mortal mind, to conceive of eternity as a cycle and the eternal purpose as an endless circle, a cycle of eternity in some way synchronized with the transient material cycles of time. As regards the sectors of time connected with, and forming a part of, the cycle of eternity, we are forced to recognize that such temporary epochs are born, live, and die just as the temporary beings of time are born, live, and die...Having survived the trial life of time and material existence, it becomes possible for you to continue on in touch with, even as a part of, eternity, swinging on forever with the worlds of space around the circle of the eternal ages"(32-5)(365-0)

all you all need to trust God to look out for the existential foundations of reality. someday we might understand more about such events as "finaliter transcendation" "trinitization""power comprehension" of the Almighty Supreme,etc., but many of these will have to wait for you to achieve the capacity to comprehend. If I am wrong abot this, then teach me about these things---please?

The Urantia Book is not going to "save the world" or prevent catastrophic warfare- YOU ARE! Time to "step up" and do something with what you have learned...

Blow up a balloon and make dots all over it with a felt tip pen. Then breathe out and in and as the balloon expands and contracts you will see the dots seperate then come together then seperate. The seperation is "balloon work" just as the distance between nebulae increasing and diminishing (during space respiration) is "space work-not power-energy work."

Pike, I will approach this comment and quote by reminding you that every ultimaton has Paradise as it's nucleus.(467-4) Paradise is the source of both time and space.It is the only stationary thing in the Universe of universes, the pattern and material fulcrum and geographic center of infinity. It is your destiny. P.120 - §3 Roughly: space seemingly originates just below nether Paradise; time just above upper Paradise. Time, as you understand it, is not a feature of Paradise existence, though the citizens of the central Isle are fully conscious of nontime sequence of events. Motion is not inherent on Paradise; it is volitional. But the concept of distance, even absolute distance, has very much meaning as it may be applied to relative locations on Paradise. Paradise is nonspatial; hence its areas are absolute and therefore serviceable in many ways beyond the concept of mortal mind. Motion is volitional..."1 The Father is always to be found at this central location. Did he move, universal pandemonium would be precipitated, for there converge in him at this residential center the universal lines of gravity from the ends of creation...And from his infinite being there flow the flood-streams of life, energy, and personality to all universes." It is evident that the time-space creation is intimately connected and completely dpendent upon Paradise for... everything. It is a long way off yet at the center of everything.
